Frontier Corps, is an umbrella term for the two provincial auxiliary forces part of the paramilitary forces of Pakistan along the western provinces of Balochistan & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In order to implement Closed Border Policy, Frontier Corps was raised by British in 1870 to perform the border security duties along the Indo-Afghan Buffer Zone, having its HQ in Peshawar, KPK. FC Balochistan was formally raised in Mar 1974, comprising seven units &1 Training Center at Loralai. To cater for the growing requirement of complex border & Internal Security operations, on 1st July 2007, a Special Operations Wing (SOW), IAC Squadron & Tank Regiment were also raised .the jurisdiction of the Interior Ministry.
